Clubhouse for Youth
Our Clubhouse for Youth is a place where adolescents, ages 13-17, can spend their time learning the tools, coping skills, and socialization strategies to keep them safe and free of substance abuse, gangs and maladaptive behaviors. Youth participate in life skills groups, social outings, educational supports, career development/exploration, and other activities that teach them how to live and maintain a healthy and sober lifestyle.
The Youth Assessment and Screening Instrument (YASI) provides a vehicle for entering and analyzing information collected by juvenile probation officers, case managers, youth service managers, social workers and other professionals who assess at-risk youth clients.
Stimulating, well-informed, individualized, case planning is a critical challenge in juvenile risk assessment tools. YASI faces this challenge with an efficient interface that allows users to immediately link client assessment results to individualized case planning and service provision. Services are offered in our group setting and include:
• Substance abuse prevention education
• Behavioral health psych-education
• Life and daily living skills (cooking, budgeting, time management, health and wellness)
• Activities include: sporting events, arts and cultural events, video games, pool table and foosball
• Homework assistance, and customized employment preparation
• Youth/Peer/Family led group activities, including monthly family dinners
• Upon completion of the program, our youth are encouraged to share their experiences with their peers through Positive Peer Mentoring
Through the Optimum Wellness Multipurpose Center's community-based services, all
children, ages 13-17 (insured, uninsured and underinsured) have access to our
Clubhouse for Youth and its attending activities. The Clubhouse for Youth hours are:
Monday - Friday from 2:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00
